Burna Boy, “I’m not Gay, but Travis Scott is my Type”

Lagos, Nigeria — Global Afro-fusion star Burna Boy has ignited a social media inferno after clarifying in a recent interview, “I’m not gay, but if I were… Travis Scott is definitely my type.”

The comment, made during a late-night radio appearance in London, has left fans across Africa spiraling between admiration, disbelief, and emergency Bible study. Within minutes, #TravisOfAfrica began trending on X (formerly Twitter), followed by #PrayForBurna and #WeRebukeThisSpirit.

Speaking from his Lekki apartment, fan and part-time keyboard warrior Tope Daramola said, “I love Burna, but this one weak me. Even Satan wasn’t expecting this plot twist.”

The Nigerian Council for Moral Decency (NCMD) immediately released a statement urging young people to “guard their playlists” and recommending a national fast “to restore heterosexual equilibrium.” Meanwhile, pastors in Ghana and Uganda have reportedly updated their Sunday sermons to include a new teaching: “The Spirit of Suggestive Preference.”

Burna Boy, however, seemed unfazed. “People act like having a type is a covenant,” he tweeted. “Relax, it’s fashion appreciation. Man has vibes.”

Music industry analyst Chikodi Emenike, author of The Gospel According to Grammys, says the comment was likely strategic. “He knew what he was doing. This is peak Burna—chaotic brilliance. Now everyone’s talking, even people who think Travis Scott is a weather app.”

In a surprising twist, Travis Scott’s team has neither confirmed nor denied anything, releasing a cryptic Instagram Story of a burning jollof pot with no caption.

As debate rages on, Nigerian aunties have reportedly gathered for a “Deliverance and Disengagement Prayer Chain,” with one woman seen placing her Burna Boy CD under holy anointing oil.

The artist’s next single, rumored to be titled “Confused but Committed,” drops Friday.
